    Nothing like a Grilled Cheese Bus to cheer us up on a Wednesday! From Bloomberg: Entrepreneur/creator of Flip Video, Jonathan Kaplan, is taking his restaurant, “The Melt,” on wheels and expanding it all throughout California.  His goal?  Getting 100 buses to sell his $8.75 sandwich/soup combos across the state over the next 5 years. Why? Because, “we can deliver the same entire experience out of a 200-square-foot bus as we do out of a restaurant.”  We’re on board!

Want to take a guess at what #1 is? (Hint: It’s not Germany, whose BMW model is pictured above—they currently hold the #6 slot, with an “innovation quotient” of 135.16).

    "Our key focus is designing a store that is innovative, fun and inviting, while providing an environment that the kids want to hang out in and stay a while," says an Aeropostale spokeperson.

    Clothing retailers are pouring a ton of money — $35 billion, to be exact — into redesigning their stores to increase sales. The key, according to this piece from Bloomberg, is not to add more stores, but to focus on designing more appealing interiors and shopping experiences at the stores they already have.

    Silicon Alley may not have its own Bravo reality show, but if Mayor Bloomberg’s constant pomp and circumstance about New York City’s innovative spirit is any indication, New York’s startup scene is on the verge of exploding. For the first time since 1999, the tech sector beat out financial services this year in sheer number of office space leases; even formerly vacant areas like Dumbo are filled to the brim with hip tech havens.
